b'REGIONAL & NATIONAL COLLABORATIONcontinuedPCWINThe PSCD maintains seats with the Pima County Wireless Integrated Network (PCWIN) on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee, and actively participates on the Operations Working Group (OWG). The department also holds the role of Pima County 9-1-1 Administrator by overseeing state 9-1-1 funding allocations and acting as the liaison to the State 9-1-1 office.State 9-1-1 The state 9-1-1 office has been active this year! The PSCD is engaged in several initiatives that have come from the newly formed State 9-1-1 Advisory Board. These include the establishment of a standardized training curriculum, a statewide recruitment effort with an event scheduled to be in Tucson during 2023 National Telecommunicators week and a national 9-1-1 data sharing project intended to allow PSAP comparison and standardized data evaluation in the PSAP. These are all interrelated efforts intended to tell the story of 9-1-1 across Arizona and to recognize Telecommunicators as professionals in public safety. The PSCD is active in the review and planning related to funding 9-1-1 in Arizona, in collaboration with the State 9-1-1 office. Arizona has the lowest 9-1-1 excise tax in the US. This means that funding is stretched and services across the state are not consistent and, in some regions, leave much to be desired. We will continue to seek legislative support to increase funding in the coming year. The 9-1-1 Advisory Board will help in identifying opportunities for expanded funding and approved uses of that funding.34CITY OF TUCSON n PUBLIC SAFETY COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT'
