b'REGIONAL & NATIONAL COLLABORATIONThe 911 Communications team represents the frontline of our first responders.2022 was a year with so much to be grateful for! We celebrated the appointment of 911 Communications Director, Sharon McDonough. We inaugurated the Grand Opening of the Public Safety Communications Center and the recent onboarding of a new class of trainees. This year, we also celebrated collaboration at the Transforming 911 Conference. There,Director McDonough, Chief Kasmar, Chief Ryan, Community Safety Health and Wellness Director Sarah Launius and myself put forward a blueprint to transform our communitys emergency dispatch.Director McDonough and Sarah Launius are busy collaborating on our 311 system. This will allow us tore-route non-emergency calls from our 911 system andensure the right work is in the right hands.I am excited to share that our initial 311 administrative team has been hired.I have the utmost confidence in our public safety team. They are building the systems to help tackle our tough problems, and I appreciate their leadership as we deliver community safety holistically.Mayor Regina RomeroCity of TucsonPhoto credit: Office of the Mayor32CITY OF TUCSON n PUBLIC SAFETY COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT'
